Saw Yulya & Reuben from the states yesterday!
Met for lunch at the teahouse at the Mosque de Paris. A labyrinth of tile patterns, gold metal tables, birds flying in and out, tangine with almonds and prunes, a tray full of treats, rosewater, etc. a lush spot under the gray parisian sky.
Walked to Institue du Monde Arabe to check out its architecture. The photos aren’t the best quality but there are some details of the amazing mechanized wall of “shutters”. The intricate pattern closes as the sun gets bright. Amazing. Went into its library and found a library stairwell that spirals up 3 levels similar to the Guggenheim Museum in New York. Found a warning: “It is strictly forbidden to install yourself in the tower of books….” haha.
A beautiful afternoon.
