During KSAT’s 6 hour “happening” there were three repetitions of this performance, each lasting between 10-15 minutes. Sitting on a small platform, I painted my face multiple times with various pigments and printed an impression on a piece of rice paper. Twice, multiple impressions were made on a single sheet. Also, a 4-sheet series of single impressions was made. Below is the text provided for the event.

As we age, the perceptions of our experiences evolve. They are in flux as they accumulate. These accumulations represent an inner identity that directs our outer appearances. I will make a live performance to record impressions of my aging identity. First I will impose the age and then try to capture it.

I will have a large site-specific installation in the KSAT CAMP exhibition this weekend! I have used the architecture of the building to inform the structure of the drawing. The drawing is a projection of a 2D image on a 3D space. As one moves through the space the forms of the drawing shift and detach, resulting in an immersive physical conversation between observation of the public and the venue as a structural host.
